Pre-game/Post-game Procedures for Teams and Referees -
A procedure has been defined by the PA West Soccer Youth Board for team check-in and for post-game responsibilities.
These procedures provide a standard set of guidelines for teams and referees to follow in order to facilitate a
consistent pre-game and post-game at all levels of play and in all clubs. Click here to get them.
When Bad Practice is Good Practice - If you give in when your team begs, "Can we just scrimmage, coach?",
you can justify it on the grounds that research indicates that learning through games with infrequent coaching
feedback is more effective in the long run than doing drills and making frequent corrections. Drills and explicit
instruction can provide temporary fixes to short term problems. However, in a sport such as soccer (where
spontaneous originality is essential), there is no way to provide enough temporary fixes to find continued
